Educational Goal
I would like students to be aware of the different careers that are available in the art field. I will know that they have accomplished this goal by the result of their end project. The students will put together a PowerPoint containing different information about the career. Some of the information would be what is the job, training/college, what colleges have a program in this, what is the average GPA they accept, and examples of the type of artwork.
Learners
I will be using this WebQuest with 8th grade art students. These students have chosen to take my class as an elective. A majority of these students have a very high interest level in art and will continue to take art class in high school.

Process
- The students will work independently. They will be researching an art career they think they would be most interested in. I will provide students with websites that they can view to find different jobs that are available in the art field.
- Their role is a graduate of Mason and they have been asked to come back and present their job for career day at the middle school.
- Once a student has chosen their job they will come up with questions on their own that they would like to know about the art career.
- The students will then collect information I have asked for along with information that they find important. They will collect information by research on the Internet. The students will collect the information and cite their sources in Microsoft word before putting them into a PowerPoint.
- The students have had a technology class that they have had to learn about PowerPoint. I will verbally provide the students in class instructions on PowerPoint. I will give them links to Power Point review and instructions. That way the students can refer to these links while they are working.
- I estimate that this project will take 1 week in a computer lab.
